Dr. Tyson Fernstrom

Physical Therapist

I was raised in Oregon. Went to Eastern Washington University and Eastern Oregon University, where I played football, before ultimately finishing my Bachelors in Exercise Physiology at Brigham Young University-Idaho. I completed my Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2021 from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in Austin, TX.

“Don’t count the days; make the days count.” – Muhammad Ali

I’ve worked in outpatient orthopedics and sports settings as a physical therapist. My post-graduate training has revolved around dry needling, diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound, ultrasound guided dry needling, and spinal manipulation.

I’m a physical therapist that specializes in treating orthopedic and sports conditions. I help patients recover from injuries and surgery, build strength, and return to their favorite activities through individualized exercise, hands-on treatment, and education.

Core Values:

Family, integrity, hard work, and continual growth. I believe in showing up for the people who count on me, following through on my commitments, and always being willing to learn.

Conditions I Enjoy Treating

Broadly, I really enjoy treating tendon injuries. In regard to body regions, I enjoy treating knee and shoulder injuries.

One of the biggest challenges patients face is feeling unheard or unsure about what’s causing their pain and how to get better. I want patients to feel listened to, understand what’s going on, and have a clear plan to get back to the activities they love. Helping people return to these activities is one of my favorite parts of being a physical therapist.

Outside Of Work

When not working, I like spending time with family, weightlifting, hunting, fishing, playing pickleball and disc golf, and coaching high school football.

“LOVED working with Tyson. I severely tweaked my back, and I was in rough shape. Along with doing a thorough evaluation, his dry needling technique is different from what I’ve done in the past, and it works wonders! He really knows his stuff and gave me great exercises and tips to strengthen and reduce pain overall so this doesn’t happen again.”

“We had such a great experience with Tyson! He worked with our 10-year-old daughter on shoulder pain she had been experiencing from dance and tumbling, and she absolutely loved him. He was so knowledgeable, patient, and great with her. He’s also helped my husband with his injuries, and he can finally jog pain-free! We’re so grateful for Tyson and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a great physical therapist.”

“Dr. Fernstrom is amazing, super knowledgeable, and informative, and really knows his stuff. Super nice and helpful. Highly recommend him.”
